Work with us

Four ways in, and the terms on each.

Listed in the order we prefer to be approached. Everything commercial attaches to research that already exists, and the full position is on the disclosure page.

Two of the four cost money and two do not. That is deliberate. The research is the product and it is free to read, so the paid work is the application of it inside one organisation rather than access to it.

Most conversations start in one of three places. A leadership team that has bought something and cannot tell whether it is working. A board that needs an independent read on a decision already in motion. Or an organisation sitting on data nobody has published and wondering what it is worth in the open.

We have deployed things and cannot tell what is load-bearingA workshop. The diagnostic alone usually settles it
The board wants an independent view before we commit capitalA briefing first, then commissioned research if the question is still open
Our sector has no published evidence and we hold the dataCo-authored research. It costs nothing and both names go on it
A vendor has quoted us a benefit number we cannot verifyA briefing. We will tell you the arithmetic ceiling in one call
We are an association and our members need research about themselvesCommissioned research, or a community partnership
We are writing a story and need someone on the recordA briefing. Journalists are never charged

What we will not do

Stated up front, so nobody wastes a meeting

Sell a place in comparative research

Nobody buys a position on a Landscape, in a ranking, or on a map. There is no sponsored tier on any series.

Publish delivery work as research

If we built it, we do not publish it as independent analysis. Research and delivery never share a page.

Write to a predetermined conclusion

Commissioned research answers a question. It does not confirm an answer that was already decided.

Show a finding early

No subject, sponsor or collaborator sees a number before it publishes, including on work they funded.

Take an engagement we are not right for

The scoping call frequently ends with us saying the answer is already published, or that somebody else is better placed.

Sell or share your data

Enquiry details and subscriber records are never sold, rented or passed on.

The weekly

Six pieces of research a week. One email on Sunday.

An organisation mapped, a failure documented, a category defined, an obligation explained, a company running AI in production, and an investor mapped by position. Free, and the archive is public.
